# Performance

Real-time performance is particularly important for the preprogramming of shows. Although the Depence Engine was specifically developed to render highly complex scenes with thousands of light sources and particles, there are still technical boundaries and limits.

Many users initially focus on creating a realistic and detailed scene to render a detailed video for their clients. To efficiently use these projects for pre-programming later on, it's essential to organize the scene well from the start. Sometimes, small changes can have significant impacts on performance. In this guide, we explain the most important topics.
